Nick and Sonia Stubbs (+Kids)
Myself Nick, and my wife Sonia have been running the Beachcomber Guesthouse in Weymouth full time since the summer of 2014. That was when we took it over from Sonia’s parents. Up until that point, Sonia had been helping her parents out during the busy times for the past 6 or 7 years. You could say she knows the bed and breakfast and hospitality business inside out.
Prior to that, we lived in sunny Spain for around 10 years. That is where we met and which is also where our two children, Dillon (now 16) and Amber (now 14) were born. Sonia’s parents ran the Beachcomber guest house for around 14 years so it is a true family business.
The Beachcomber has been in the family for 15 years. It is in the perfect location for both us and the guests as we are just a stone’s throw from the town and a superb, safe and sandy beach.
We are far enough away from town to get some peace and quiet. But close enough to walk in within minutes! Plus we have a car park : )
Nick is also a professional photographer and videographer. He photographs weddings, commercial contracts and the occasional family portrait. “One thing we aim to offer our guests is a beach family portrait at reduced rates for couples and families staying at the Beachcomber”.
The Georgian Bed and Breakfast
The Beachcomber Guest House in Weymouth is a Grade 2 listed Georgian townhouse. Therefore it is somewhat restrictive in the work that can be done to the building. However, it ensures that the Beachcomber retains all its character and charm.
Our B & B is located over the road from the award winning, long sandy beach. It is just a short walk from the town along Weymouth’s south/south east facing Esplanade (great for the morning and daytime sun).
It's close enough for a nice stroll along the promenade into the town center and its wonderful restaurants and bars. But it is far enough away to ensure a good night’s sleep away from the late night revelers! The train station is also just a 5 minute walk away and is the last stop on the London line.
The Guest House has 8 en-suite rooms. They range from a cosy single room through to a large family room that sleeps 4 (5 with cot). All rooms have a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, WiFi and private, off road parking.
