Please bear this in mind if you have trouble with stairs or are 6'8”!! Thank you
If you need a room on a lower floor that isn't in the description or are enquiring about multiple room occupancy please call to discuss. I am very flexible and will always try and accommodate guests. Unfortunately we do not accommodate stag or hen parties or large, same sex groups.
Being a Grade II listed building means we have Grade II listed sash windows which due to legislation we are unable to upgrade to double glazing or secondary glazing! We do our best to dull any traffic noise from the street outside by dressing the windows with heavy black-out drapes and blinds.
Beachcomber Guesthouse has central heating throughout with the radiators having thermostats for guests to control the temperature from within their rooms. During the winter months extra heaters are available to guests as well as hot water bottles, fleeces and blankets.
During our lovely hot summers there are also fans available for guests to have in their rooms for comfort.
The Guesthouse also offers guests free Wi-Fi coverage.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, just off the main hallway down at ground level, and again the high level of décor and furnishings applies here too. You may notice our collection of ‘Jersey Cows’ that adorn the pine dresser as well as many lovely bits of china and pottery that have been collected over the years.
The guest lounge is here too and you are more than welcome to spend any spare time you may have here. There is a lounge area with soft seating, as well as a large TV (with terrestrial channels) and a library area, with many wonderful novels (we do ask they are returned at the end of your stay as they do belong to the Guesthouse) that you may peruse during your visit, as well as many board games, please feel free to enjoy these areas.
The hallway has on display many booklets and leaflets, offering guests information on a wide range of outings and entertaining ‘things-to-do’, both in and out of season. Please help yourselves! Nick and Sonia have private facilities on the lower ground floor. If, for any reason you need to speak to them, there is a contact bell in the hallway.
